At only age 15, LuxuryLipz was founded by CEO LaMyah Williams. When interviewed in 2021 by VoyageKC magazine , LaMyah stated the following:

"When I was 14, I was in the brainstorming process. I told myself that making my own product and doing everything on my own was something that I really wanted to accomplish. But I was only 14. No income, no brand or anything. So, I waited until I turned 15 to put my business in action. I got my first job. My small paychecks went into buying all of my products in order to make lipgloss. With a lot of trial and error, three years later my business is operating better than ever."
